The Gold Coast SUNS support the community through many areas an in 2011 will aim to deliver 5000 hours of Community support.
Working closely in conjunction with AFL Queensland’s Game Development team, the GC SUNS and it Promotions team provide a wide variety of community appearances through many programs and activities.
Some of these include visits and participation at Auskick centres, primary and high school competitions, Super Clinics, sign on days, awards nights, club visits, junior member’s days, AFL Community Camps and school holiday camps.
The club is also strongly committed to its 3 core social responsibility pillars which it welcomely commits both player and coach appearances to. These include:
• Youth Homelessness programs & events
• Respect and Responsibility (through Domestic Violence) programs & events
• North Gold Coast region programs & events
The Gold Coast SUNS also welcomes applications from the wider community either for the GC SUNS Promotions team or Player / Coach appearances, however due to the overwhelming volume of submission for appearances received and the significant prior commitments to the club key community areas (listed above), it cannot guarantee to be able to grant the request on every occasion.
