Broughton & Sexton's Pre-Season Greg Broughton and Alex Sexton share their pre-season progress at this morning's media conference

We’ve been doing some drills together on the oval for the last couple of months, doing some match simulated drills, and it’s been great to get to know how they play.
The Gold Coast SUNS battled it out at Metricon Stadium today with the players being put through a punishing two-hour training session that included a taste of fierce match simulation training.

The session featured plenty of spirit and fight and it didn’t take long before the intensity saw the players tap into their competitive nature, with Dion Prestia looking to come off second-best after Karmichael Hunt collected him with a thunderous bump, only to see Prestia bounce back up moments later as he recovered from the friendly fire.

Among the standouts was the GC SUNS mini-draft pick Jack Martin, who showed his class as he weaved his way around defenders to set up a number of goals for teammates, showing everyone out on the track why the GC SUNS secured the highly rated 17- year old.

GC SUNS recruit Greg Broughton says it’s been great to have time to gel with the club’s experienced defenders in Tom Murphy and Matthew Warnock.

“We’ve been doing some drills together on the oval for the last couple of months, doing some match simulated drills, and it’s been great to get to know how they play.”

“They’ve [Murphy, Warnock] been around for a while so to come in and to have them guys down there has been great communication wise, so [hopefully] we can make sure we get the Gold Coast defending the right way.”
