Gold Coast Juniors the big winners at this weekends AFL Gold Coast Juniors Sign-On Day

The GC SUNS want to encourage all students who have participated in the GC SUNS SHINE Program through their local schools to come and experience AFL Footy at one of 15 local clubs across the Gold Coast.
AFL Gold Coast Juniors will hold their annual sign-on day this Saturday and Sunday with all juniors age groups from Under 6’s to Under 11’s registering for the 2013 season set to receive a Gold Coast SUNS 3 game membership, providing them with a number of opportunities to watch their heroes in action.

Thousands of aspiring GC SUNS players are set to sign on this weekend with all 15 Clubs across the region anticipating an influx of new recruits and returning players will visit  the sign-on days hot spots.

GC SUNS General Manager of Marketing, Community and Fan Development Kelly Ryan said the three game membership initiative had already been warmly received by the regions junior clubs.

“Not only does this exciting initiative enable each junior AFL club on the Gold Coast to provide the next generation of players with exposure to AFL through the GC SUNS, we also hope it  provides a positive incentive  for parents of junior players to allow their children to continue playing or to sign up for the first time with their local club in 2013” Ryan said.

All Junior players aged between 6 and 11 are eligible for the GC SUNS 3 game membership once they’ve registered with their junior Club for the 2013 season with the membership providing access to any three of the GC SUNS 11 home games this season.

Through the ongoing support of the Queensland Government, Junior participants of the GC SUNS SHINE Program will also be big winners this weekend with the first 50 to sign on for the new season receiving a $100 discount off their local footy registration.

It’s hoped the added junior incentives will provide a significant boost to junior AFL on the Gold Coast and assist the code in building on the 20% growth experienced during the 2012 season.

GC SUNS Community Manager – Corey Bell, says the partnership with AFL Queensland Gold Coast juniors  will hopefully encourage students to try their hand at club football after first experiencing AFL through the SHINE schools program.

“The GC SUNS want to encourage all students who have participated in the GC SUNS SHINE Program through their local schools to come and experience AFL Footy at one of 15 local clubs across the Gold Coast.”

“To claim the $100  registration discount, SHINE Program participants simply need to present their subsidy flyer at their  local club during this weekends AFL Gold Coast junior sign on day.”
