The Gold Coast SUNS staggered across the finish line this season, but in a sign their bodies are starting to withstand the rigours of senior footy, a club-record seven players appeared in all 22 games during the 2014 campaign.

What makes this figure more remarkable is the fact the previous record was three. The seven players with a perfect attendance record were: Sam Day, Jarrod Harbrow, Tom Lynch, Jaeger O’Meara, Dion Prestia, Danny Stanley and David Swallow.

The durable O’Meara and Stanley reached that mark for the second time in their SUNS careers, with the former yet to miss a game in his AFL career, playing all 44 possible matches at the top level. O’Meara will be heading in to his fourth season at the club after spending 2012 in the NEAFL following his selection by Gold Coast in the special GWS 17-year-old mini-draft in 2011.

In 2013, just two players came through the season unscathed with AFL Rising Star winner O’Meara and small forward Aaron Hall both reaching the 22-game mark.

Matthew Warnock, Josh Caddy and Harley Bennell played all 22 games for the SUNS in 2012 while Jarrod Harbrow, Jared Brennan and Danny Stanley did so in 2011.
