Scans have confirmed Gold Coast SUNS midfielder Dion Prestia has strained his hamstring.

The midfielder left the training track early on Monday with the injury.

General Manager of Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft, confirmed the scan results.

“Dion had scans on his hamstring this afternoon, and they have confirmed a strain to his left hamstring.”

“He will commence his rehabilitation in the coming days and will progress his training in the coming weeks.”

Fellow midfielder Harley Bennell also left the track on Monday with a tight calf.

Bennell will have scans on the Gold Coast tomorrow.

Meanwhile, former GC SUNS Academy graduates Andrew Boston and Jarred Ellis successfully underwent respective surgery on Monday night.

Boston had a previously inserted plate removed from his surgically-repaired ankle, while Ellis is in recovery after receiving treatment on a stress fracture.
