There are just over three weeks between now and the Gold Coast SUNS round one clash against Melbourne at the MCG on April 4.

At this time of year, the football department are well and truly in the process of trying to determine what their best side looks like for the opening game of the season.

Since the SUNS' inception, there has never been such a wealth of depth at Metricon Stadium. The teething period of the clubs infancy looks to be behind them, with a maiden finals berth a strong focus in 2015.

With the pre-season in its concluding stages, competition for spots in Rodney Eade’s best 22 is fierce.

Have your say - tell us who is in your A.S.A.P Glass Best 22!

There are so many variables when it comes to selecting a round one side, so we have decided to throw it to our loyal supporters to have their say on who should fit into our round one calculations.

What structure will you choose up forward? Fancy seeing the little master, Gary Ablett, playing out of the square? What about the exciting Jack Martin or Harley Bennell as permanent forwards?

Will you play two ruckmen or just one of Zac Smith or Tom Nicholls?

Has off-season recruit Mitch Hallahan done enough to warrant a berth in round one?

Jarrod Garlett and Touk Miller, two recent draftees, have both been eye-catching during the NAB Challenge series. Have they earned a game ahead of some more seasoned campaigners?

What about the back six? There’s plenty of classy ball users to choose from. Nick Malceski, Trent McKenzie, Steven May, Jarrod Harbrow and Kade Kolodjashnij. Can you fit them all in?

And what about mature-aged rookie revelation Adam Saad? We’ve only had a small sample size to evaluate him on, but he looks to be another Scott Clayton recruiting heist.

So, you know what you need to do. Demonstrate your football knowledge by entering your best 22 for the round one clash against Melbourne.

A winner will be selected at random to receive a GC SUNS guernsey signed by the entire 2015 playing list.

The competition closes at 11:59pm on Wednesday 1 April, with the SUNS' round one team to be announced on Thursday 2 April.
