Gold Coast SUNS utility Danny Stanley will miss at least the next four weeks after suffering a medial ligament strain in the opening minutes of the clash against Fremantle last weekend.

The 27-year-old limped from the ground after a collision and was swiftly substituted out of the game, joining the enormous injury list at Metricon Stadium that has engulfed the SUNS in the opening half of the season.

“Danny got an MRI scan yesterday which showed up a grade two medial strain. He’ll be in a brace for the next couple of weeks and is expected to be sidelined for between four to six weeks,” GC SUNS head physiotherapist Adam Russell told goldcoastfc.com.au.

After overcoming an injury interrupted start to the season, due to a persistent quadricep injury and an untimely concussion, Stanley fought his way back into Rodney Eade’s side to play the last five games.

Against Sydney in round ten, Stanley produced the strongest performance of his season to date, collecting 22 possessions, four tackles, four rebound 50s and three inside 50s, to set himself up for a strong second-half of 2015. The knee injury is a setback for the seasoned Stanley, but fortunately it won't put a line through his season.
