Nine Gold Coast SUNS players have been fined for their parts in the melee that erupted on the half-time siren against Port Adelaide at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.

Harley Bennell, Tom Lynch, Charlie Dixon, Henry Schade, Clay Cameron, Brandon Matera, Sean Lemmens, Jarrod Garlett and Touk Miller can each accept a $1000 fine from the Match Review Panel for their involvement in the fracas.

Tempers boiled over in the dying seconds of the opening half when small forward Matera tackled Port Adelaide’s Angus Monfries high, resulting in the all in melee after the siren.

All nine player can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea, given it is the first time they have been charged with engaging in a melee.
