Matt Rosa is now a Gold Coast SUNS player after the club exchanged selection 31 for the West Coast Eagles midfielder.

Rosa, 28, has played 168 matches with West Coast since making his debut in 2005 and played 17 games with the Eagles this season, including last month's Grad Final.

Currently holidaying with his family in Hawaii, Rosa said he was thrilled to join the GC SUNS.

"I'm rapt to be joining the Gold Coast SUNS. After meeting with the club last week, I was really keen to continue my career with the Suns.

"I really want to thank and acknowledge everyone at the West Coast Eagles, I've loved my time with the Eagles and wish the club all the best in 2016 and beyond," Rosa said.

General Manager - Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft said the club was pleased to sign Rosa.

"We are rapt that Matt will join our club, he brings valuable experience to our midfield and his leadership qualities will assist our large group of emerging leaders.

"The club had been in discussions with Matt, his manager Alex McDonald and the West Coast Eagles throughout the exchange period and this has led to the smooth and trouble free trade being agreed upon," Ashcroft said.
