The Gold Coast reserves team will travel to Darwin to take on the NT Thunder for round seven of the NEAFL competition.

This will be the SUNS’ first and last trip to TIO Stadium this season, which has become a fortress for the local side in recent years.

However, with Thunder suffering home losses to Sydney and Brisbane already in 2017 the SUNS will be looking to continue the trend and further cement their place in the top four ahead of the Bye Round.

Gold Coast will be without Jack Bowes, Keegan Brooksby, Brayden Fiorini, Matt Shaw and Josh Schoenfeld from their win over the Giants, with these players departing for Shanghai on Wednesday as members of the SUNS’ extended AFL squad.

Darcy Macpherson is expected to continue his run of good form on Saturday, the 19-year-old currently leads the competition for disposals (184) in conjunction with Aspley’s Matthew Payne and Dream Team points (757).
