The Gold Coast SUNS have made seven changes to it's senior team ahead of Sunday’s showdown against St. Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

As confirmed by the club on Friday morning, superstar midfielder Gary Ablett (calf) and Kade Kolodjashnij (concussion) were replaced in the preliminary senior squad.

Ablett was unable to overcome a lingering calf complaint, forced to delay celebrations ahead of his impending 300th career game.

Elevated rookie Darcy Macpherson will make his first appearance for 2017, while Rory Thompson and Matt Shaw will also feature against the Saints.

They join Callum Ah Chee, Jarrod Harbrow, Touk Miller and Brayden Fiorini in the senior team.

Jesse Lonergan will play his 50th game for the Gold Coast SUNS.

Josh Schoenfeld and Trent McKenzie came into the 25-man line up earlier today, and have been named emergencies alongside Mackenzie Willis.
