Callum Ah Chee is a chance to line-up in Gold Coast’s round 16 match despite suffering an injury in Saturday’s win over North Melbourne.

Ah Chee came off with a shoulder complaint during the round 15 match, but was able to return to the field after sideline treatment.

“Came off, and then went back on and finished the game which is a really good sign,” GM Football Operations Marcus Ashcroft told the Optomo Injury Report.

“He’s trained today [Tuesday] and is expected to train Thursday, and if he does that with no problems he’ll play on Saturday.”

After an interrupted week Pearce Hanley removed himself from the field with a hamstring niggle for the second consecutive week.

“Pearce unfortunately came off just before half-time,” Ashcroft said.

“We’re probably going to err on the side of conservatism this week.

“[Pearce] looks likely just to miss one week and be available the following weekend.”

Small-forward Brandon Matera is also firming as a contender to make his return come Round 17.

“With Brandon, his foot has come along well over the last two weeks,” Ashcroft said.

“He was pushing to play this week but we’ll give him another weeks rest.”

Despite early concerns, Aaron Hall could be the third SUN available for selection in a week’s time.

“He’s [Hall] recovered really well, we thought it would be a longer term injury but his hamstring has responded well to treatment,” Ashcroft said.

“He’ll train over the weekend and into next week with the view to hopefully be available for next weekend.”

The news is less positive for defender Kade Kolodjashnij who is still showing concussion symptoms.

“Unfortunately for Kade he hasn’t been tracking along well,” Ashcroft said.

“He’ll miss this weekends game, we’ll assess him next week and make a call then.”
