Two SUNS polled votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award for the round seventeen clash against Collingwood.

Gary Ablett was voted the best Gold Coast player on the ground on Saturday night after his 41 disposal and 11 clearance game.

The former skipper covered plenty of ground, highlighted by his six rebound 50s and five inside 50s.

Ablett did a lot of grunt work as he laid six tackles and led the way in contested possessions, gathering 19.

With six rounds to go, the superstar midfielder sits fourth on the 2017 AFLCA Leaderboard behind Brownlow Medalist Patrick Dangerfield (Geelong), Dustin Martin (Richmond) and Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn).

He was joined in the votes by David Swallow, who had 25 disposals and laid seven tackles.

The West Australian also managed to hit the scoreboard, kicking one goal and two behinds.

Swallow has gathered 15 votes across 13 games in 2017 to sit fourth at the SUNS.
