GET SET for an AFL Women’s team

The Gold Coast SUNS bid for an AFLW team is up and running with Gold Coasters getting right behind the bid.

Fans have been supporting the bid by being photographed with the “GET SET” sign to spread the word.

SUNS Female Academy player and Under 18 All Australian squad member Kalinda Howarth even took the chance to be photographed with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull as she toured the PM though the SUNS world class facilities last week.

The SUNS' bid also had support from families and friends attend the National Women’s Under 18 Championship held on the Gold Coast recently.

At the Championship, Queensland had nine players who won All Australian Selection, seven of whom are Gold Coast SUNS Academy players.

SUNS corporate partners are also backing the bid with HOSTPLUS CEO David Elia and wife Juiliana committing to the supporting the team.
