It might be the curtain raiser to the AFL game, but when the Gold Coast and Brisbane NEAFL teams meet for the ‘2Clash’ sparks are set to fly.

Both teams are finals-bound and are looking to continue their strong form heading into the business end of the season.

Not only would a win would be highly advantageous for both sides, it would set the tone for the senior team.

Gold Coast will also be looking for revenge, having gone down by five points the last time the two sides met.

Thirteen AFL-listed players will take to the field for the SUNS, having been bolstered by five key additions.

Veteran midfielder Michael Rischitelli is joined by the likes of Brayden Fiorini and Jesse Lonergan, providing Gold Coast with a strong midfield unit for the game.

Small forward Brandon Matera has recovered from a foot injury and will make his return to footy via the reserves.

Mitch Hallahan also comes into the team and will look to display the form that has seen him surge into the top five on the NEAFL MVP leaderboard.

SUNS fans are encouraged to get the ground earlier than usual to cheer on the NEAFL team, with the game starting at 12.45pm.

Entrance will be via Gate 2 from 12.30pm and all patrons will require a full AFL match ticket or eligible membership to gain access to the curtain raiser clash.
