Mayes has overcome a footy injury that saw him miss one game and will look to provide the Lions with rebound off halfback.

Key forward close has earned a promotion after solid NEAFL form, including three goals against the Swans last weekend.

Youngsters Alex Witherden (hamstring) and Josh Schache (omitted) have come out of the side.

Saturday's game starts at 4.35pm at the Gabba, with the respective NEAFL sides playing off in the '2Clash' at 12.45pm.
