As the historic birth of AFLX draws near, the Gold Coast SUNS’ fixture for the Sydney tournament on February 17 has been confirmed.

The SUNS will be joined at Allianz Stadium by fellow Queensland side the Brisbane Lions alongside Sydney Swans, GWS Giants, Richmond and Western Bulldogs.

The AFL on Wednesday confirmed the six teams have been split into two pools, which sees Gold Coast face Sydney and Western Bulldogs as part of Pool B.

POOL A: GWS Giants, Richmond, Brisbane Lions
POOL B: Sydney Swans, Western Bulldogs, Gold Coast SUNS

4.10pm           GWS v Richmond
4.38pm           Sydney v Western Bulldogs
5.06pm           Richmond v Brisbane Lions
5.34pm          Western Bulldogs v Gold Coast SUNS

The AFLX Sydney tournament will commence at 4.10pm, with gates to open at 3.00pm. 

AFLX is a new and different version of Australian Football and has been designed to take the traditional game from oval grounds to rectangular fields. 

AFLX will still contain and showcase the unique and most thrilling aspects of Australian Football in a shortened format, with seven players on the field and three on the bench.

The inaugural 2018 AFLX tournaments promise to be a great family experience to enjoy, with non-stop action set to excite fans of all ages.

Fans will see plenty of action, with fireworks, DJs, in game commentary, roving performers, kids and family zones and giveaways a feature at all events.
