SUNS veteran Michael Barlow showed his experience against the Southport Sharks in the NEAFL on Saturday, registering a perfect ten votes to vault into the NEAFL MVP top ten.

Barlow notched up 42 disposals and nine clearances to spur the SUNS on to a come-from-behind win over third-placed Southport.

Brayden Crossley polled seven votes for his impressive performance in kicking five goals.

Jack Leslie and Josh Schoenfeld also put up strong performances taking four and two votes respectively.

The win puts the SUNS in equal fourth position on the NEAFL ladder ahead of round 10 against the Giants.

The NEAFL MVP Award is presented to the player uniquely judged the best in the competition by a combination of umpire and coaches votes.

The votes are submitted post-game cast on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis. As such, the maximum amount of votes a single player can earn per match is 10 – courtesy of the maximum five votes from both umpires and coaches.
