Brayden Crossley was adjudged best on ground for Gold Coast after their six-point loss to Sydney Uni in the NEAFL on Saturday.

The young ruckman and Students’ midfielder Zac O’Brien topped the votes, polling eight each.

Crossley put in a strong performance around the ground finishing with 40 hitouts, 25 disposals and nine marks.

The 18-year-old added physicality to the contest, laying five tackles, and was also able to add a goal to his name.

Midfielders Will Brodie and Brad Scheer were rewarded for their performances receiving three and two votes respectively. 

Brodie lead the SUNS for disposals, racking up 32 touches, while also having 10 clearances and six tackles.

Academy product Scheer was also prominent, laying 11 tackles and gathering 23 disposals.

The NEAFL MVP Award is presented to the player uniquely judged the best in the competition by a combination of umpire and coaches votes. 

The votes are submitted post-game cast on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis. As such, the maximum amount of votes a single player can earn per match is 10 – courtesy of the maximum five votes from both umpires and coaches.
