Touk Miller has capped off arguably his best season in SUNS colours to date by claiming second place in the Club Champion award.

In his fourth year at the club, Miller averaged 22 disposals and five tackles, playing every game which included stints in a different role as a run-with tagger.

The 22-year-old said he was honoured to receive the votes from his coaches.

“(It’s a) fantastic achievement but in saying that it’s not something to rest on,” Miller told SUNS TV.

“(It’s) reward for effort I think for a consistent year so yeah pretty stoked, pretty humbled.”

Miller jumped out of the blocks quickly, leading the race after the first ten rounds.

However he was quickly hauled in by eventual winner Jarrod Harbrow, finishing on 351 votes to Harbrow’s 390.

But Miller said it was a result he had been expecting from the outset.

“To be honest with you he was my pick from the start of the night,” Miller said on Harbrow’s chances.

“He obviously had a stellar year and not to mention life member and also being players’ player and (winning the) community award.

“The man does it all so you expect that.”

With the 2018 season now in the rear-view mirror, Miller has been quick to switch his focus to the future.

“From a team perspective I know that I want to win some more games,” he said.

“From a personal perspective I (want to) have a huge off-season into a big pre-season.

“Like Stuey said up on stage we’re getting fitter, faster and stronger and that starts from tomorrow so (I’m) really keen to start that.”
