Draft History: 2012 NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft 1st round selection (Gold Coast) No. 7 overall.
The transformation of Aaron Hall into a midfielder was one of the more remarkable things to come out of 2015 inside Metricon Stadium.
In the final seven rounds of the season the Tasmanian moved into Gold Coast’s engine room out of pure necessity, and despite rarely venturing in there before, he never missed a beat. Hall finished the year in such a manner that he polled in six of the last seven games of the season to finish seventh in the Club Champion.
Up until round 17, the Tasmanian had endured a tough season at Metricon Stadium. A non-existent pre season didn’t allow him to build any sort of aerobic base to run out games early in the year.
But after moving into the middle against Adelaide after Gary Ablett went down with a knee injury, Hall flourished, collecting a career-high 24 possessions on Adelaide Oval. From there, he never once went below 24 touches – twice gathering 31 in the closing stages of the year to finish with full steam.
In the aftermath of the 2015 season, Hall inked a new three-year deal, tying him with the SUNS until the end of 2018.
