The GC SUNS believe Bennell will become a long-term player, with the exciting midfielder/half-forward showing glimpses of his enormous potential in 2011.
Bennell played the final nine matches of the 2011 season and became one of his team’s most consistent in that stretch. He averaged 18 disposals in 14 games and his spectacular three-bounce goal in the final round against Hawthorn showcased his blistering pace and class.
Taken by the GC SUNS with Pick 2 at the 2010 National Draft, Bennell is a quick, agile, ball-winning run and carry player with great vision and anticipation. He can play midfield, forward, or defence with equal skill.
