AFL Round 8
Gold Coast SUNS v St Kilda
Saturday, May 8
First Bounce: 2:10pm
GC SUNS home games look very different to past games at Metricon Stadium. As such, we require all attendees' cooperation to follow the health and safety advice from QLD Health and Metricon Stadium.
Upon redeeming a ticket, you accept the responsibility and risk of attending this game and agree to follow all venue staff directions. QLD Health has allowed all QLD Stadiums to reach a capacity of 100%, meaning there will be more attendees in the Stadium than during 2020. You will be sitting next to, behind, and in front of other people not from your household or purchase group.
It is required that all attendees wear masks to, from, and while at the game due to patrons' close proximity – please bring your own mask to the game. There will be hand sanitiser available at the Stadium; however, attendees must bring masks, gloves, or other PPE items, if they wish to. Patrons are encouraged to wash hands and sanitise regularly, as well as cough or sneeze into a tissue or their elbow. Please remember to observe social distancing where possible.
We encourage everyone attending our Round 8 match against St Kilda to wear a mask while entering the Stadium and wherever they cannot social distance. If you are seated, masks are not required. Masks will be mandatory inside our corporate areas.
Masks will be handed out at entry gates and are available to purchase at the SUNS Shop. For your convenience, sanitiser stations are scattered throughout the stadium for convenience.
For all 2021 match days Metricon Stadium and the Gold Coast SUNS are working in accordance with a QLD Health approved, Site Specific COVID Safe Plan. Under this plan, the State Government and QLD Health have determined our current method of seating/ticketing to be COVID Safe, allowing us to cater for all footy fans while maintaining effective contact tracing.
As such, you will be seated next to patrons outside of your immediate family during the match. These seating arrangements under this COVID Safe plan are communicated to each ticket purchaser during the purchase/redemption process.
All attendees have been allocated a specific seat via their ticket. Attendees must sit in the allocated seat as shown on their ticket. If there is an issue with your ticket, please let one of the usher staff know. Do not move seats without approval from Metricon Stadium staff.
There will be no spare seats between your group and the next group of ticket-holders. All patrons will be sitting next to, behind, and in front of each other within each section. Queensland Health has approved these COVIDsafe seating arrangements. Metricon Stadium will not relocate groups if you do not wish to sit next to someone else.
Please note: tickets in sections 201 – 228R are on Level 2 and are not accessible by a lift. If you or any of your guests have a mobility issue preventing them from using stairs, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org before arriving.
Your Ticket and Entry
Entry tickets will be sent directly to your mobile phone. Please ensure your mobile phone is charged to allow your tickets to scan on arrival at the Stadium. Your ticket shows the gate number you must enter through – your ticket will not scan at any other gate. Gates open time is TBC, and will close at the start of the fourth quarter.
Listed on your ticket will be a zone in which your seat is located. To comply with COVID Safe venue plans, you will need to remain in your zone. There will be toilets and food and beverage facilities within your zone. Staff will be on hand to assist if required.
Parking & Transport
Pre-paid parking into the Blue Carpark will be available soon via Ticketek.
Ticket holders with a parking pass can enter the carpark, directly across the road, via Nerang-Broadbeach Road (heading westbound).
People with Disability parking for people seated in Zone 1 and 2 will be available soon in the Blue Carpark directly opposite Metricon Stadium. A valid, government-issued disability parking permit is required to access People with Disability parking.
Taxis and Ride Share vehicles can drop off and pick up passengers outside the Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre. The public drop off and pick up is located across the road at the Blue Carpark.
What can I bring to Metricon Stadium?
Bags will be searched on entry to Metricon Stadium.
Water in a sealed, plastic container, up to a maximum of 1.5L, will be permitted into the Stadium. Any unsealed bottles will be emptied at the entry gates. You will be able to refill your bottles with water from any open bar – just ask the bar staff to refill your bottle. Soft drinks or other non-alcoholic drinks will be permitted in a sealed, plastic container, up to a maximum of 600mL. All other sizes or unsealed bottles will be emptied on entrance to the Stadium.
Patrons may bring homemade food items or special dietary requirements into the Stadium provided they are packaged appropriately, and the items can be easily viewed by security if requested. Commercially branded takeaway food and beverage will not be allowed into the Stadium. No items in glass, crockery or cans will be allowed into the Stadium, including glass water bottles. All Thermos items will be searched by security.
