After a stirring team performance at Optus Stadium on Sunday evening against the West Coast Eagles, who will win your vote for the Austworld Player of the Round after the 27-point victory.

Matt Rowell and Touk Miller led the way in the midfield while Noah Anderson and Brayden Fiorini seemed to be everywhere as they got to work against an experienced Eagles Midfield.

Rowell notched his first 30+ possession game finishing with 33 disposals, 22 of which that were contested, six tackles and nine clearances. An extremely brave contest going back with the flight inside his own defensive 50 went unrewarded by the umpires but will certainly earn him some votes from SUNS Fans.

Touk Miller lead from the front in his first game as captain alongside the returning Jarrod Witts, back to his bustling best with 29 disposals, eight clearances and five tackles.

The forward line provided a strong performance across the board, Nick Holman’s pressure and work rate was remarkable throughout the game, and he also finished with a goal to his name.

Ben Ainsworth provided a link to between the Midfielders and Forward Group, finishing with two goals for his efforts.

Mabior Chol and Levi Casboult on their club debuts were crashing packs and providing a strong contest in the air. Both players finishing with two goals to their name.

But it was Izak Rankine who received the end result of a lot of hard work all over the ground, finishing the game with four goals and one behind from his 22 disposals.

SUNS fans will have been pleased to see their captain Jarrod Witts return from an ACL injury suffered last year. First game back against a powerful Nic Natanui would be a task nobody would envy, but Witts as he always does was back to his battling best and that will put a smile on plenty of faces.

Charlie Ballard and Sam Collins competed all evening against an experienced Eagles Forward line, and Ballard’s effort was summed up when he chased back hard to the goal line to touch a ball to save a certain goal.
