The Gold Coast SUNS and Huawei Australia today announced a five year sponsorship which will see Huawei become the club’s official technology and ball partner.

The sponsorship agreement was announced today by Huawei Australia Board Director and former Victorian Premier, the Hon. John Brumby, together with Gold Coast SUNS Chief Executive, Andrew Travis, at the club’s home ground, Metricon Stadium.

Andrew Travis welcomed Huawei to the club’s strong suite of partners, “We’re proud to welcome Huawei to our suite of major sponsors. Huawei is a global company and through this partnership will be supporting Australia’s game. We look forward to working with Huawei over the next five years and beyond.”

“Through the partnership Huawei will take on a prominent brand position, but we will also be working together on a number of innovative concepts in which we will focus squarely on enhancing the fan experience at Metricon Stadium,” Travis said.

Mr Brumby said, “Huawei is proud to be announcing its first major sponsorship in AFL. Like the Gold Coast SUNS in the AFL, Huawei is relatively young in the Australian ICT & Telecommunications market, but we both continue to build and grow from strength-to-strength.”

“This sponsorship will enable Huawei to further build its consumer brand awareness through the Gold Coast SUNS popularity at home games and television audiences around the country,” he said.

The announcement of Huawei Australia, comes less than a fortnight after the Gold Coast SUNS confirmed that United Petroleum had joined the club as Coaches Partner.

Huawei Australia and United Petroleum join a strong suite of partners, including, HOSTPLUS, Fiat, Southport Sharks, Metricon Homes, Virgin Australia and Crust Gourmet Pizza as sponsors.
