The Gold Coast SUNS have three changes to the squad to take on Fremantle at Metricon Stadium this Sunday.

Will Brodie, Nick Holman and Jacob Heron have come into the 26-man squad after performing well in the NEAFL practice match on Sunday.

“It’s great to welcome Nick back into the squad and Will Brodie has come in to the squad as well after missing out last week but playing a strong game in the NEAFL,” Senior Coach Stuart Dew told SUNS Media.

“Jacob Heron also comes into the squad which is exciting, he’s fast, he can play down back but can also swing forward which brings flexibility to our 26.

After being ruled out for the next 4-6 weeks, Ben Ainsworth comes out of the squad as well as emergencies Michael Rischitelli and Sam Day.

“Unfortunately for us Ben Ainsworth hurt his leg last week but he was able to play the game out which was important for us,” Dew said.

“We look forward to having him back as soon as possible.”

Jack Hombsch will play his 100th AFL game after being named once again at centre half-back.

Sam Collins has recovered from a head knock in the last minute of the Round 1 match against St Kilda and passed all concussion protocols to take his place in the side.

The team will be finalised on Friday afternoon.

The match kicks off at Metricon Stadium at 3:40pm on Sunday. Gates open at 1:45pm.
