The Gold Coast SUNS U16 Academy squad has been selected to play against the Brisbane Lions in a two-match series.
For the players chosen, it represents the next important step in the Queensland Talent Pathway and will have a bearing on selection for the Queensland U16 team.
The U16 squad began training on Tuesday at Metricon Stadium and will prepare for the first match on Sunday April 28 against the Brisbane Lions Academy.
The second match will be played on Saturday May 4 against the same opponent.
Players selected from the North Queensland region will train up north before the full squad assembles on Friday April 26 ahead of Game 1.
