The Gold Coast SUNS have today placed Rory Thompson and Harrison Wigg on the inactive list with both defenders suffering season ending knee injuries prior to the start of the season.

Thompson ruptured his ACL on the eve of the JLT community series game 2 against the Swans, whilst Wigg sustained the same injury during the club’s intraclub practice match at Metricon Stadium.

The move means the club has the option to add two additional players during the upcoming mid-season draft should the club choose to utilise these positions.

The NAB AFL Mid-Season Draft will be conducted at the conclusion of Round 10 of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season, on the evening on Monday May 27, 2019.
