GWS were too strong for the SUNS in the NEAFL on Saturday, recording a 43-point victory at GIANTS Stadium.

The Giants led the contest for the majority of the match to secure the 11.19 (85) to 6.6 (42) win.

It was a poor start by the SUNS, allowing the Giants to kick the first four goals of the game and go into the first break with a 28-point lead.

The SUNS gathered themselves to find some momentum in the second term with Sam Day and Josh Gore kicking a goal each to put points on the scoreboard.

However, the Giants’ reign continued with their impressive form allowing them to head into half-time and three quarter time with a lead of more than 30 points.

Will Brodie was impressive with 26 disposals, 11 clearances, four inside 50’s and a goal.

Callum Ah Chee continued his form since his return from injury with 19 disposals and four inside 50’s to be named Gold Coast’s best.

Also a standout was Tom Nicholls with 31 hit outs and a goal, as well as six clearances.

Jacob Dawson stood up in defence, totalling 24 disposals, five marks and eight rebound 50’s for the match.

In the forward line, Sam Day kicked two goals and had seven marks.

The SUNS ran out the game strongly but in the end it was the class and early lead of the Giants which proved to be too much for the SUNS to overcome.

Gold Coast’s next assignment will be taking on the undefeated Brisbane Lions at Metricon Stadium this Saturday.
