Less talk, just actions: Weller

   - Lachie Weller

After a "stern" review of Saturday's embarrassing loss to Richmond, it's time for Gold Coast to stop talking and start acting, says running defender Lachie Weller.

The SUNS were humiliated on their home ground, conceding 103 points in the first half and losing by 92 to the revitalised Tigers.

It was Gold Coast's 11th straight loss.

Weller told AFL.com.au Monday morning's review was unpleasant, but something clear came out of the carnage.

"It's less talk and just actions now," Weller said.

"We want a good week on the track and hopefully you can see in the first quarter (against Adelaide on Saturday night) our actions are showing.

"We want to be tough."

One thing Gold Coast has done exceptionally well in 2019 is start its matches, with only Collingwood, Geelong and Richmond winning more than the SUNS' tally of eight first quarters.

But Saturday was a disaster, conceding nine goals in the first term and seven in the second to an "unbelievable" Tigers outfit.

Weller said they'd like to have controlled the ball a bit more and change momentum, but it simply didn't happen.

He said there was still plenty to take from the remainder of the season, starting with the Crows this weekend.

"I imagine the 22 that get to play will be pretty keen to represent the club well," he said.

"We still think we can get a lot out of these seven games.

"We're a young team and get to play AFL every week, we're still learning."
