Izak Rankine has been named in the forward pocket for his return from injury in the NEAFL match against the Sydney Swans.

SUNS Media reported earlier today Rankine would be named in the squad, with the 19-year-old having missed six weeks with a hip injury.

Jack Martin comes out of the side, with Senior Coach Stuart Dew telling the media on Thursday the 24-year-old was managing a minor knee injury sustained in the NEAFL last week. 

With Gold Coast’s AFL team playing on Sunday afternoon, an extended squad has been released for both AFL and NEAFL.

On the extended interchange is Michael Rischitelli, Jordan Murdoch, Aaron Young, Peter Wright, Jacob Dawson, George Horlin-Smith, Jacob Heron and Brad Scheer.

Four of those will play in the AFL, with another one to travel as an emergency.

The NEAFL match against the Swans kicks off at 12pm at Tramway Oval.
