Despite sitting out the latter stages of the Round 22 match against Hawthorn with migraine symptoms, forward Sam Day is expected to be available for the SUNS final match of 2019 at Metricon Stadium on Saturday.

SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Alpha Sport Injury Update Day had recovered well thus far following the match.

“Sam suffered some migraine type symptoms during the later stages of the game on the weekend,” Bull said.

“He’s pulled up really well and we expect him to train fully this week so should be available for the weekend.”

Jack Martin missed the AFL match on the weekend after getting a knock to his knee in the NEAFL game a week prior.

“Jack got a small blow on the outside of his knee and had a low grade medial knee injury,” Bull said.

“That’s settled pretty well so we expect him to train fully this week and provided he gets through training well, he’ll be available for selection on the weekend.”

In positive news, Izak Rankine returned from injury in the NEAFL win over Sydney and is likely to pull on the boots again this Saturday.

“It was really pleasing for Izak to play really well and to pull up well after the game,” Bull said.

“He’s buzzing around the place today and he’ll train fully on Thursday as well.”
