Season Review: David Swallow

Season Highlights: David Swallow Watch some of the best highlights from Club Champion Runner Up David Swallow's season

In his first year as co-captain, David Swallow had an outstanding season to finish runner-up in the Club Champion.

For the second time in his career, the 26-year-old managed to play every match of the season where he averaged 23 disposals, four marks and four tackles per game.

Swallow has embodied the club’s values this year and continues to be one of the most inspirational figures at the club.

His reputation amongst his peers saw him take out the club’s Players’ Player award at the Club Champion and also nominated for the AFLPA MVP and Most Courageous awards.

All in all, another excellent season by the co-captain in 2019.

Best game:

Swallow’s best performance came in Round 8 against Melbourne at Metricon Stadium. The skipper did his utmost to drag the team over the line, finishing with 35 disposals (22 contested) and 13 clearances. It was a dominant four-quarter performance by Swallow which personified his 2019 season.

Moment of the season:

Swallow’s crunching hip and shoulder on Melbourne’s Michael Hibberd in Round 8 is the perfect representation of his season. Hard at the football and courageous, Swallow was never going to back down from this contest.
