The Gold Coast SUNS have advised three players their contracts will not be renewed.

Aaron Young, Harrison Wigg and Brayden Crossley were each informed of the club’s decision not to renew their contracts during a meeting with the club.

General Manager – Football Operations, Jon Haines thanked the players for their contribution.

“On behalf of everyone involved with the football club, we would like to take the opportunity to thank Aaron, Harrison and Brayden for their commitment and contribution to the Gold Coast SUNS,” Haines said.

“Harrison is a much - loved member of the playing group who has unfortunately not been able to demonstrate his full capability due to a series of significant injury setbacks. He has demonstrated great resilience during this period and has never wavered from his ability to bring energy and care to the group”.

“Aaron has made a significant contribution both on field and importantly amongst our playing group since joining from Port Adelaide. He is highly regarded by his teammates and the club and we wish him all the best with his future endeavours.”

“Brayden is a local Gold Coast product and someone who has progressed through the Gold Coast Academy pathway. Brayden has had to navigate his way through an extremely challenging period recently, and he has conducted himself with class and maturity throughout. As a club we will continue to support him and his family wherever possible”.

As part of further list management considerations, Josh Schoenfeld will be moved from the primary list to the rookie list for season 2020.

This process involves Josh being delisted from the primary list, with the club committed to picking him up in the 2019 NAB AFL Rookie Draft on Friday November 29.

The GC SUNS have until Thursday October 31 to lodge their initial 2020 playing list to the AFL.
