Rob Charter, who lives on the Gold Coast, retired in 2018 following a distinguished career with Caterpillar Inc - the world’s largest construction equipment manufacturer – that spanned nearly 30 years.

From 2015 until his retirement, Rob was based in Chicago and served as Caterpillar Inc. group president of Customer & Dealer Support. He had responsibility for global parts sales, global marketing group, 21 warehouses worldwide, administration of 172 dealers and Caterpillar digital initiative.

Rob was known within the company for his passion for developing and mentoring employees and for his global perspective having held positions in Asia, Latin America, the United States and Australia.

Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Ballarat University and has completed the Stanford University Executive Program. 

He has previous board experience on the OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospital of Illinois, American Road and Builders Association and Association of Equipment Manufacturers. 

Rob now splits his time between the Gold Coast and Northern NSW after purchasing an avocado farm across the border in 2018.
