Previous AFL Club: Collingwood (2011-16, 40 games, 18 goals)
Junior Club: St Ives (NSW)

Jarrod Witts continues to evolve his game as the number one ruckman and has been a huge asset since he joined the club in 2016. He is an extremely respected member of the playing group, being promoted to the leadership group in his second year at the club and standing in as captain for one game in 2018. He doesn’t speak often, but when he does – people listen. After signing a five-year contract extension, Witts will remain a SUN until the end of 2024.

The durable 209cm ruckman played every match in 2018 and was one of the club’s most consistent players, finishing the year in the top 10 for the best and fairest. He’ll face a challenge from a fit Tom Nicholls for the starting ruck role, but it’s hard to see Witts relinquishing the role he has performed so well in the last two seasons. He’s possibly one of the most under-rated, but Witts’ next challenge is to put his hand up as one of the premier ruckman of the AFL competition and lead the team to more wins in the process.
