Mackay product Emma Pittman joins the Gold Coast SUNS after two years with the Brisbane Lions. The 165cm rebounding defender played eight AFLW games in her two years since being drafted in 2017. She is currently undergoing rehab on an ACL injury sustained playing for Coorparoo in the QAFLW. Pittman is no stranger to elite sport, having come from a competitive soccer background. She played for the Brisbane Roar in the 2012-13 W-League as a striker before switching to AFL football. In 2017, Pittman was named in the QWAFL team of the year.
