Farrar kicked five goals, including the SUNS 24th and final for the day late in the fourth quarter, while Day did his chances of a recall to the AFL side no harm with four majors himself.

The SUNS blew the Lions away after quarter-time, stamping their authority on the contest with a nine-goal-to-two third term to all but put the result beyond doubt.

Gold Coast had a further six multiple goalkickers with Will Rowlands (three) joining Charlie Elliot, Lloyd Johnston, Thomas Reeves and Ned Moyle (all two each).

Moyle dominated the ruck battle in trademark fashion (34 hitouts, 17 disposals) and was well supported by Levi Casboult who also bagged himself a goal.

Alex Sexton (31 disposals), James Tsitas (27), Alex Davies and Darcy Macpherson (26 each) were the major ball winners for the SUNS while youngster Bodhi Uwland had 22 touches and a rare major to boot.

The result maintains the SUNS dominance over its Queensland rivals in the VFL having now won the last four meetings.

The SUNS now head into next Sunday’s clash against Southport at People First Stadium with three wins and a draw under their belt from its opening five games.
