The Gold Coast SUNS can provide a Qscan Injury Update ahead of Round 11 against Euro-Yroke at Marvel Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

In unfortunate news out of the VFL, SUNS key forward Elliott Himmelberg has sustained an ACL injury and has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 season.

GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull said Himmelberg would undergo surgery next week.

“Elliott was sent for scans following Saturday’s game which unfortunately has confirmed a rupture to his ACL and will see him ruled out for the remainder of the year,” Bull said.

“Elliott has seen a specialist this week and will undergo surgery next week to begin the recovery process.”

Also in the VFL, ruckman Max Knobel has sustained a foot injury, with a timeline yet to be determined for his recovery.

“Max presented with some mid-foot pain during Saturday’s game and scan results have shown a fracture in the affected region,” Bull said.

“Max will be further reviewed by a specialist this week before the next course of action is decided for his recovery.”

Lloyd Johnston was a third casualty from the VFL, sustaining a concussion, and has entered the AFL’s concussion protocols.

StreetSmarts SUNS Academy graduates Will Graham and Jake Rogers have both successfully undergone surgery on their shoulder and ankle injuries respectively.

Graham is expected to be sidelined long-term, while Rogers is expected to return in 4-6 weeks.
