Damien Hardwick has lach-ed in his side for Sunday’s trip to Sydney to face the Giants.
As confirmed on Thursday night, Lachie Weller returns following a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined since Round 8 for what will be his 150th AFL game. He is one of three inclusions for the match alongside StreetSmarts SUNS Academy products Ethan Read and Connor Budarick.
Read returns to the side after being a late out against Geelong a fortnight ago while Budarick will run out for his first AFL match since Round 8.
David Swallow, Sean Lemmens and Leo Lombard have been omitted. Lombard remains on the emergency list alongside Alex Davies and Jy Farrar.
The sub for Sunday’s match will be confirmed an hour first before first bounce.
The SUNS last tasted victory against GWS in 2021 and are also eyeing the club’s first victory at Engie Stadium.
Sunday’s match is live on 7mate in Queensland and New South Wales, as well as Kayo and Fox Sports 503 nationally.
