The Gold Coast SUNS have stormed back from 28 points down to record back-to-back VFL victories for the first time this season.
A surge late in the second quarter, and again in the last term saw the SUNS record a 14.16 (100) to 13.8 (78) victory at the NEC Hangar.
Tate Kaesler’s side dominated the inside 50 count and could have pulled further away in the last term if not for some missed opportunities.
Several SUNS did their chances of AFL selection no harm with Alex Davies (31 disposals), David Swallow (30 disposals, eight tackles), Leo Lombard (28 disposals), Nick Holman (two goals, 25 disposals) and Malcolm Rosas Jnr (22 disposals & a goal) getting their hands on plenty of the ball.
Jy Farrar (four goals) made the most of his chances on a wayward day in front of goal for the SUNS. Five consecutive behinds early in the last quarter kept the Bombers within touching distance before goals to Swallow and Jamison Shea opened up what would prove to be a match-winning lead.
The SUNS next return to People First Stadium to take on Collingwood as part of a blockbuster double header this Friday afternoon on the Gold Coast.
