NAB2: McKenzie's 88.4m Torpedo Trent McKenzie unloads with the barrel from full back

Gold Coast SUNS defender Trent McKenzie left fans in shock a couple of times in Thursday’s NAB Challenge match against West Coast with booming kicks at both ends of the ground.

A shot for goal from around 80 metres out in the opening quarter was the first big roost, but it was a kick-in from full back in the third quarter that cleared the centre circle that had fans in awe.

But just how far did the Sherrin travel in Joondalup?

The West Perth Football Club, who call HBF Arena home, measured the distance today at a whopping 88.4 metres.

Talk about unleashing the cannon!
