After playing 21 games in season 2016, just one of two SUNS players to do so, Jarrod Harbrow will miss Gold Coast’s final game of the season.

“Unfortunate for Harbs, he’s been one of our better players all year and we need his experience out there,” GM – Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft, told the Optomo Injury Report.

“He’s got a fracture in his hand so he definitely won’t play this weekend and we’ll work out a course of action over the next few weeks.”

Fellow defender Sean Lemmens will be left stranded on 49 AFL games, ruled out of Saturday night’s game against Port Adelaide with concussion.

“He went off at the time, didn’t take any further part in the game. The diagnosis from that is that he does have concussion,” Ashcroft said.

“Hasn’t been able to pass any of the early tests in the week and so he’ll be unavailable for this weekend.”

Exciting forward Jarrod Garlett is in some doubt after receiving a heavy knock to his shoulder in the round 22 clash against Collingwood.

“Jarrod’s a bit banged up like a few of his teammates,” Ashcroft said.

“Doesn’t look good at the early stages of the week but we’re going to give him a few days to try and overcome that so he’ll do some rehab in the early stages with a view to try and train later in the week so he’s a test at this point.”

David Swallow’s return from a long term PCL injury has been hampered by hamstring tightness suffered in the NEAFL’s four-point win over Aspley.

Swallow started the game in good form, collecting eight touches and kicking a goal in the opening quarter, but was sidelined soon after and won’t play this week.

“Didn’t play any further game time after quarter-time. Started fantastically well and the team went on and won the game which was great for the reserves team,” Ashcroft said.

“But for David, only really minor hamstring tightness. No point in risking him for the last week so he won’t play in either form this weekend.”
