In my eyes, there was no other place I wanted to be other than at the Gold Coast SUNS.

Touk Miller has followed in the footsteps of housemate Peter Wright, extending his contract with the Gold Coast SUNS.

Miller, who was contracted until the end of 2017, wasted no time in extending his current deal, expressing a strong desire to remain a SUN for years to come.

“There has never been a better time to get on board with the Gold Coast SUNS,” he said.

At 22, the former Calder Cannon and Vic Metro captain was recently voted into the club’s player leadership group, a strong endorsement of his leadership capabilities and his standing amongst his peers.

Miller said he was delighted to have secured his football future in Queensland, and was focused on building a winning culture and environment as the team firmly sets its sights on 2017.

“In my eyes, there was no other place I wanted to be other than at the Gold Coast SUNS,” Miller said.

“As a playing group, we have completed a mountain of work this pre-season, and strongly believe we are in for an exciting 2017.

“We believe, our time to rise is now and we want everyone on the Gold Coast to join us in 2017 to help the club write our next chapter.”

The club’s latest re-signing comes just weeks after 2014 club champion David Swallow re-committed until the end of 2019, while Wright and second year SUN Callum Ah Chee delighted members and fans when they too announced their respective contract extensions just before Christmas.

GC SUNS List & Strategy Manager Scott Clayton welcomed Miller’s.

“We are rapt that Touk has re-committed to the club,” Clayton said.

“He’s been incredibly consistent since joining the club, he has matured quickly and is natural leader, continually influencing our young players in the right way.

“As a club we are incredibly excited about his future with the Gold Coast.”

Members and fans will have an opportunity to congratulate Miller, and secure a photo and autograph from him and his teammates at Saturday’s annual Family Day at Metricon Stadium.
