SUNS TV: Scrimshaw calls his Dad Jack Scrimshaw calls his Dad to share the news of his upcoming debut.

Draftee Jack Scrimshaw will make his AFL debut on Saturday when the SUNS travel to Cairns to take on the Western Bulldogs.

The rebounding defender, who was selected with pick No.7 in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft, becomes the fifth debutant for Gold Coast this season.

After an injury-affected pre-season, he has had to bide his time in the NEAFL and has been developing with every game.

Scrimshaw’s recent strong form playing across half back has been rewarded with a debut game against the reigning Premiers.

His agility, decision-making and clean hands make him a perfect quarterback-style player that will look to launch attacks from the defensive half of the ground.

Standing at 193cm and weighing 84kg when he joined the SUNS, Scrimshaw has already added to his light frame and has ambitions to move into the midfield on a permanent basis in future years.

Having already signed a contract extension that ties him to the club until at least the end of 2020, SUNS fans can get excited about a player that has already shown plenty of potential.
