While the wet weather wasn’t ideal for football on Sunday afternoon, the match did manage to produce some promising fantasy scores from a contingent of SUNS. Following the win at Southport, goldcoastfc.com.au have analysed some of the most eye-catching AFL Fantasy performances below:

Jarryd Lyons - $665,000

Playing in the guts as usual, Jarryd Lyons had a big day at the office on Sunday. The 25-year-old produced 33 disposals in the testing conditions, with over half of those (17) being contested. Add to that three tackles and six clearances and Lyons ended up as the SUNS’ top scorer with 106 points. After averaging 94.5 last season Lyons certainly has plenty more to offer in 2018.

David Swallow – $605,000

The 2014 Gold Coast Best and Fairest has enjoyed an uninterrupted pre-season to date, and produced 104 AFL Fantasy points in his first competitive hit-out for 2018. The 25-year-old racked up 25 touches (15 contested), five marks, five tackles and three clearances on the day. Set to take on more leadership in the midfield, Swallow could be worth every cent of his $605,000 price tag if he can recapture his 2014 form and finish the year injury-free.

Jarrod Witts - $650,000

Coming off a meteoric 2017 season where he was the fifth-ranked ruckman in the competition, Witts produced a respectable score of 91 on the weekend. The big man wasn’t able to produce the same numbers in JLT1 last week, managing just 46 points while sharing the ruck duties with Tom Nicholls.  But with the freedom to play as the solo ruckman, Witts was back to business and came close to his season average last year of 92.3. It remains to be seen how many games Nicholls will play this year, but keep an eye on round one selection before scooping up Witts in your side.
