The Gold Coast SUNS have secured George Horlin-Smith from the Geelong Football Club.

The trade with Geelong sees Horlin-Smith join the SUNS in exchange for selection 59 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft.

General Manager - List & Strategy, Craig Cameron was excited to have secured the midfielder.

"George is a fantastic young man and we’re excited about what he can bring to our club,” said Cameron.

“He’ll add to our midfield depth, but he’s also a man of great character who was highly regarded amongst his peers and the coaching group at Geelong.

“As a club we’re keen to target players looking for greater opportunity at AFL level, who are keen to drive our club forward, George definitely fits that mould,” Cameron said.

Horlin-Smith was drafted by Geelong with pick 37 in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft and has gone on to play 51 games during his eight seasons at the club, including a 21-game season in 2014.
