Gold Coast SUNS forward Sam Day has been nominated for the 2014 Mark of the Year for his spectacular mark in the first quarter against the Hawks on Saturday night at Metricon Stadium.

After the ball was cleared long out of SUNS defence, Day found himself caught behind experienced Hawk Josh Gibson on the centre wing.

Little did that matter for Day with the athletic big man using Gibson as a stepping board, leaping high onto his shoulders and taking the mark on the second grab.

To win Mark of the Year, Day needs the support from the fans with public voting to determine the weekly winner.
