Daniel Gorringe will be in the mix for senior selection this week after the Gold Coast SUNS took the cautious approach to rest the athletic ruckman in the side’s thrilling season opener against St. Kilda last Saturday.

The 20-year-old sustained a concussion in the final term of the SUNS’ 36-point victory over Melbourne last month.

But after a strong pre-season campaign through the NAB Cup, the South Australian junior is determined to build on his eight AFL appearances and has already begun pushing his claim to be in the club’s ruck debate alongside towering bigmen Zac Smith and Charlie Dixon.

Danny Stanley and Kyal Horsley will also put their hand up for selection despite them both missing last weeks NEAFL match against Mt Gravatt with injury.

Meanwhile, forward Tom Lynch is expected to make his return to football through he NEAFL. Lynch hasn’t played since injury his ankle against the Brisbane Lions in round 1 of the NAB Cup.
