The Gold Coast SUNS have received some positive news from the medical room with Harley Bennell and Seb Tape both considered a strong chance to be available for selection next week.

Bennell, who was left out of the side’s season opener against the Tigers to fully recover from calf soreness, will be given every opportunity to test his fitness according to High Performance Manager Stephen Schwerdt.

“He will need to be passed fit but he is a good chance to be available for selection,” Schwerdt said.

After a delayed start to his 2014 season, Schwerdt confirmed Tape was on the mend from his lingering hamstring complaint.

“Seb has been progressing well from injury and will also be tested by the club’s high performance staff next week.”

Meantime, spearhead Charlie Dixon will be taken through concussion testing this week but all early signs indicate he will be available for senior selection against Fremantle for the side’s round 2 clash at Patersons Stadium.
